August 19 I knew it! I suspected that scoundrel Hummer had been cheating on me! Now there is evidence. Jackie (Ch Sandpiper's Catch The Wave) had 9 little Hummer babies this morning. Harumpf! That's ok though, I'm done with males!

August 9 First let me say that I love my children, I really do. But I am sooooooo happy that they are weaned. Look how big they are!!!!!! Here are some photos of them playing outside today.

August 1 I got a big surprise today! My Momma Ellen came to get me and the pups! We are going back to Mass for a while so Momma Ellen can enjoy the puppy breath. While she was here, the kids got stacked and photographed. The photos aren't too great because they were taken inside. My kids are like me and their dad, they hate the heat and love the air conditioning.
July 25 Thank goodness that the pups are being weaned now. Their little teeth are like razors! And another good thing is that they never finish all their food. So, being the good momma that I am, I go in and clean it up.
But, there is one disturbing thing that I must report. Please bear with me. Since I have been spending less and less time with the pups, the other day MammaDonnah started, oh gosh this is difficult..... She.....
I know, I know, I was shocked. I yelled and yelled, hoping a neighbor would come by and let me in the house. She left me out there for 10, maybe 15 minutes. How rude to treat me like a common dog. A Queen like me should be taken on long strolls several times a day. Not made to go out in the yard like a commoner.
Anyway, here is a current photo of the kids.
July 20 I know! I know! I haven't posted in a while. But really, taking care of these kids is a full time job. They are growing like weeds!
MamaDonnah says that she'll start weaning them soon. I sure hope so, they have teeth now! Sometimes I just stand at the edge of the whelping box and stare at them for a while until I work up the courage to jump in among the little sharks.
July 14 These babies are fat and happy. Their eyes are open and they are starting to walk like drunken sailors. But mostly they sleep.
July 12 I promise more photos tomorrow. The kids are starting to open their eyes just a little bit. They are also getting more mobile. I'm gonna be in trouble soon!
Speaking of trouble, in addition to taking care of my babies, I've been trying to keep the peace around here. See, there is this "rule". MommaDonnah cooks dinner, and PapaMike is supposed to clean the kitchen. Yesterday, he forgot. So I jumped up on the stove and cleaned some of the pans for him so he wouldn't get in trouble. I've discovered that I really like roast beef and mashed potatoes. Mmmmm. Hey - I smell meatballs cooking, gotta go!
July 9 Need I say more?????
July 8 Wow, the babies are 1 week old today. They are now 1 1/2 times their birth weight. Wee boy is 15 ounces and big boy is 1lb 14 ounces.
Here's a picture of the kids from today:
July 5 I was too tired to write anything yesterday. It's a lot of work keeping these babies clean. They sure are growing. The smallest boy is just 13 ounces. The largest boy is already 1 lb, 9 ounces.
Speaking of the father, he hasn't called, written sent flowers or anything! Guess all I was good for was a one night stand. Harumph! After this, I'm swearing off boys forever!
You chase me...poke and prod me...as well as hump me.
I graciously return the favor and you expect flowers...I usually just mark them.
I am pleased I have 6 little ones. I cannot wait to lie there and play with them, and sniff their butts.
It would have been nice to see them close up, but I don't think I would enjoy having my face torn off!
When you want to act non life-threatening, or as you call it "protective", I will come by for a visit.
In the meantime, I am glad there is a strong door between us.
July 3 MamaDonnah keeps telling me that I'm the best mother ever! And she keeps just staring at my babies. I can understand why. They are just so darn cute!
July 2 I spent today doing two of my favorite things: keeping the puppies clean, and keeping MommaDonnah guessing. I wash, and wash and wash these pups. Sometimes one of them wanders a little far away. So I just whine and MD brings it back to me. They are all doing very well. Even though there are more stupid boys than girls, I love them all.
The guessing game is fun. I act hungry. MD brings me some food and I say "no, not that, try again" Sometimes I'll eat a nibble. Why doesn't she understand that all I really want right now is coffee ice cream and hot dogs!
July 1 Today I decided to rest on the leather couch in the living room. It's very comfy. But around 1:00, I felt something weird. I looked and the couch had hatched a puppy!! So that's where they come from!
June 30
I have been very restless today. Panting and shredding stuff. MamaDonnah says that the puppies will show up soon. I sure hope so.
June 29
I know some of my fans have been wondering what I have been up to lately. I'm at my "other home" in Maine for a while. I hear that it's been really hot lately. I wouldn't know. MamaDonnah has been running the air conditioner for me. Today she and PapaMike put together this big box thing in her office. Hmmm, I seem to recall that last time I saw this, there were puppies in there. Where are the pups. MamaDonnah told me to just wait, there would be puppies in there soon.

Oh 1 more thing. I don't have a guestbook, but if you want to email me, I can be reached at Bonnie@brynbar.com. I can post your messages on my blog.
I'm still being a brat (hey I have an excuse). I yell at the other dogs sometimes just because I can. I'm also being sorta picky about eating. Usually if I'm picky my humans will say "you'll eat when you're hungry" But with babies to feed, they give me anything I want. You know what's really good. Go Lean Crunch cereal. It's kinda sweet and crunchy and in a bowl of milk - yum yum. MamaDonnah says that she eats it for breakfast because she needs to loose weight. Personally, I think she looks just fine.
That's almost twice as big. I think he will take after his father.
Hummer responds:
How ungrateful!
MamaDonnah took the puppy into the room with that big box and told me to stay there. I washed and washed and washed that pup until it was shiny and bright. I was told there would be others, but heck, I'm not greedy. After an hour or so, it felt like I was going to have a pup. I pushed and pushed and pushed, nothing happened. So I decided to nap. Guess that scared MamaDonnah so she put me in the van. Next thing I know, there was another puppy! So we went back home.
It was a crazy afternoon, but by evening I had 4 little boy pups and 2 little girl pups. I've been busy ever since just trying to keep them all clean and shiny.
